Once inside, players have the opportunity to explore the campus, engage with other players, participate in quizzes, play games for points, and utilize earned rewards for discounts at various local campus establishments. The app includes weekly promotions and prizes for top-ranking players.

This initiative originated from alumni and retired leaders of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) aiming to support scholarship programs that foster campus diversity, inclusion, and an enjoyable atmosphere. Additionally, it serves as a networking platform for alumni through personalized avatars set within a virtual representation of their alma mater in real-time.

Emphasizing Madison, Wisconsin, touted as hosting one of the finest undergraduate experiences in the United States, the GVBACK App directs its proceeds towards benefiting the University of Wisconsin-Madison directly.
